紋身是一門不停被搬龍門的工藝,由部落戰士勇猛的勳章,墮落成罪犯恥辱的烙印,同時是引領客死異鄉的水手回家的指南針,但亦沾有左青龍右白虎的江湖味。眼見紋身被歧視,有前港青羽毛球員,大學攻讀心理學的女紋身師刺在人皮的筆鋒挪向原稿紙上,寫出一個個為忘記情傷、為正視身體缺憾、為追夢的紋身故事,冀大眾以平常心看待紋身,「正如我不歧視沒有絞身的人!」

 

《墨子》是高子媚寫的第一本書,亦是她紋身店的店名,店內裝修與別不同,客人進門要脫鞋子,天花板掛了數盞吊燈,門旁影碟架放的都是文藝片,偶然會辦放映會,大伙兒或坐在沙發,或躺在地毯上欣賞投影機照在牆上的光影,「很多人都問我們是不是住在這裡」,她說社會仍然有人視紋身是不正經,所以她從裝修下功夫,消除客人對紋身的恐懼。

 

來找高子媚紋身的大部份是老師、公務員、大律師和白領,她在新書收錄了這些人的故事。睛睛的右肩和右臂長了一大片淡褐色的胎記,令她十分自卑,夏天亦穿長袖衫遮蓋,甚至不敢交男朋友。為消滅胎記她用盡辦法,但仍是失敗,直到一天她決心面對自己,把胎記變成一幅畫布,紋了一頭鹿,鹿角長出樹枝,枝上有鳥兒在飛翔,現在她不會再把胎記遮蓋,希望鼓勵其他有胎記的人克服心理陰影。

 

在樂園賣曲奇的少女H與男友同居四年,一直戀愛大過天,但男友到澳洲工作假期旅遊後另結新歡,遭拋棄的她試過輕生,被情傷折磨三年,直到遇到另一個他才釋懷。她找高子媚在雙腳上紋了數朵隨風飄散的蒲公英,其花語是「停不了的愛」,祝福舊愛,亦提醒自己重新出發。

 

每個紋身都有故事,高子媚有三十多個紋身,第一個紋身是她左手腕上的一顆五角星。高子媚六歲打羽毛球,當過港青羽毛球員,曾經她的夢想就在球場上,想當一個全職港隊運動員,但家人認為學業為重,要她掛拍專心讀書,加上失戀和家庭問題,混混噩噩的過了一年多,「當時我不知道人生為了甚麼,整個人很飄浮。」直到她在泰國旅行到過一家紋身店,見識到紋身不只是龍虎鳳,可以在背脊紋一幅全彩色龍珠漫畫,亦可以將名畫《最後的晚餐》紋在手臂上,她便紋了這顆星,「很想有一樣東西是永遠和我一起。」

 

但母親知道後大發雷霆,捉了她去洗紋身,過程很痛,但她沒有哭,「肉體的痛比不上心裡的痛,我走出一大步要重新整頓人身,但都不給我去建立。」由於開始獨立,高子媚不顧家人反對,繼續研究紋身,「那點火簡直比打羽毛球有過之而無不及,很多人一輩子都找不到自己喜歡的事,我失去過一次,上天給我遇上第二春,當然不能放過。」

 

這份幹勁支撐她拜師學習紋身,在中大攻讀心理學,兼職教球賺外快,同時參加校隊出戰各種比賽,她曾經在師父的店內由下午三點忙到翌日早上十時,小睡一會便去上課,學業、體育和興趣三軌並行,令她熬壞了身體,長期握紋身筆令她右手手指不能張開,最後要做物理治療,「如果我不是運動員,我當不了紋身師,兩者都是講求堅持、克服和基本功,我經常和自己說,只要球尚有一毫米未碰到地,我還是有機會羸。」誠如她的座右銘:「智不強者智不達。」

 

很多客人形容高子媚是最能畫出你心中所想的紋身師,這與她肯花時間和客人做心理諮詢,了解他們真正的想法有關,「雖然那是我其中一個作品,但始終是跟別人一輩子,我不想別人後悔。」她稱,能表達客人心中所想固然是好,但亦限制了創作空間,她認為社會雖然開始接受紋身,但仍未被人視為一種藝術,「即使來紋身的人都是有目的,很少人是因為欣賞一個圖案而決定紋身。」她希望將來可任意發揮,最近她便想紋一碗叉燒飯,可惜仍未找到願意獻身。

高子媚筆下紋過無數人,但最深刻的客人是她父親。由最初反對女兒紋身和拜師學藝,覺得紋身的人並無好人,到慢慢了解女兒工作,甚至受女兒鼓勵,人到中年跑到非洲當無國界醫生,最後獻出左臂紋上象徵追夢的紋身,高先生並無因為紋身而和女兒變得生疏,父女情更日益深厚。

 

高子媚生於醫學家庭,父親是私家醫生,母親是護士。當年兩老知道她紋身的時候,高媽媽頓覺晴天霹靂,命令女兒要流掉紋身;高爸爸則比較開通,他第一時間擔心女兒紋的是某個人人名,影響一輩子,當知道她紋的是一顆星和幾個小羽毛球便鬆了一口氣,但心裡仍視紋身為不正經的事。

 

眼見雙親反對,高子媚瞞他們繼續拜師學藝,直至快畢業時才和盤托出打算把紋身當作終身職業。高爸爸為人雖然開通,但亦不能接受女兒做紋身師,「那些人都這麼晚了還不回家而去紋身,都不是甚麼好人吧!」父親的狠話雖然令高子媚一時語塞,無從辯駁,但未有令她放棄夢想。

 

後來,高爸爸嘗試了解女兒的工作,到訪女兒師傅的紋身店了解環境,開始慢慢接受女兒走上紋身師這條路。可能受到女兒追夢的鼓勵,高爸爸人到中年毅然放棄事業,隻身跑到非洲當無國界醫生,完成少年時期的夢想。父親回港後,高子媚拿了父親在非洲做手術時的照片,找師父紋在左肩上,回家後給父親後,得到的第一句回應是:「媽媽知不知道?她知道一定嚇倒。」幸好,隨後補充多句:「就算是紋我,以後都不要紋那麼多了。」高子媚知道,父親看見了紋身是感到開心的,兩父女因為紋身的隔膜正式消除。

 

高爸爸往後的日子一直嚷要紋身,曾打算紋無國界醫生的圖案在身上,以防在戰亂地區被「殺錯良民」,但都被女兒反對。直到女兒寫書,高爸爸才選定了圖案紋在左臂,是一個武士騎馬走到懸崖上,前方是明媚的陽光,象徵追夢。

Collaboration with academic photography studies

Jayers and a few of her clients were invited to take part in a project that Helen Mitchell, a senior lecturer at Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand, has been working on since 2010. The final outcome for this project is an exhibition at Northart Gallery in conjunction with the Auckland Festival of Photography that runs between 28th May and 20th of June 2015. Tattoo Planet Netherlands
